This is the photo of my father (Ken Nelson, Navigator) and the rest of his crew in front of the Dark Angel. We grew up thinking this was "their" plane, but thanks to this site found they only flew on it once. But, this picture is how we remember my dad. Not sure exactly when it was taken, but thought others would appreciate another crew photo of this great plane.

Wallace Storey provided the identifications and more information about this photo:
The picture I have of the "Dark Angel" with six crew members is part of my crew boarding the aircraft and leaving Grafton Underwood heading home. The men shown are, left to right, S/Sgt. Wilbert Brickner, Sgt. Kniland Tod, Lt. Kenneth Nelson , Sgt. Ed Stone, Lt. Robert Hassard, Lt. Jim Sweeney. Jim Sweeney was usually my co-pilot after I was made first Pilot of the crew and Ken Gross moved to another crew. Allen Carson continued to fly missions with me. (Jesse Johnson was one of ten in the original crew who was removed at the 384th
where crews of nine were used). (October 2017)
