Awaiting further identifications. The names of the men listed in the Comments section never flew a mission together and were parts of three different crews.
Keith Ellefson is positive that it is a picture taken stateside and not a picture taken at GU because they are wearing summer uniforms/T-shirts. Also, no combat crew gear in the picture. No Mae-Wests, no parachute harness', no B-4 bags, ETC. The four officers are standing in the back row recognizable by the officers insignia on the hats/caps. Wofford flew his first mission as CP with Mattes. The Mattes crew and the Wofford crew were both lost on 17 August 1943. The were both in the 545th Squadron.
Photo contributed by Paul Nick Carter’s grandson, Parrish Carter. He indicates the names are from a list on a separate piece of paper. Those men on the list never flew as a crew together. There are 2 pilots on the list – Frank G. Mattes and Drewry F. Wofford, Jr.
