Wes Askew, 22 Feb 2007: While not on this crew, my grandfather - TSgt Raymond A. Thompson (Top Turret Gunner/Flight Engineer) was shot down in this aircraft on 24 May 44. He spent the rest of the war in Stalag Luft IV in Gross Tychow, Poland until force marched back into Germany in early 1945.
