Jack Coleman Cook, ball turret gunner of the Robert Long crew of the 546 Bomb Squadron of the 384th Bomb Group.

Jack died on February 3, 1945 after his heroic actions saved the life of the Long crew's navigator Edward Field. Jack Cook gave up his place in the life raft to Edward Field after their B-17 had to ditch in the North Sea on the return from a mission to Berlin.
