This is not the main memorial. The main memorial is in a separate location dedicated to the crew of the B-17 that crashed in Belfonds and the resistance fighters who helped them.

This plaque for Francis Hackley, displayed in the Belfonds town hall, was a special gift in 2008 from the Hackley family to the people of Belfonds in thanks for keeping Francis’s memory alive.

Photo and information provided by Mark Olson, son-in-law of Clifford Dartt, in July 2018.
