B-17F-30-VE 42-5855, RAMP TRAMP. It was with the 384th from 28 June to 22 August 1943. It was previously with the 95th BG, transferred to the 384th, then transferred to the 306th BG.

"As Briefed" identifies the plane flown by Floyd Edwards on the July 25 Hamburg raid as "Ramp Tramp." The mission summary and sortie report show Edwards flew 42-5855. The book also lists Mark Willing flying "Ramp Tramp" on the Aug. 17 Schweinfurt mission, and checking the sortie list and mission summary again shows it as 42-5855.

This is a picture of the tail section of 42-5855 after it went down while with the 306th.
