Schauer crew (545th BS) shot down on 17 March 1945 mission to Erfurt (secondary target; Bohlen was the primary) flying 42-107148 JD*P Dark Angel.

All the crew bailed out safely. Cooksey was killed by German civilians as he hung from his chute which was tangled in some wires.
