John Young, 11 May 2005: This mission was considered the longest bombing mission of WWII. They crash-landed in Torun, Poland and were MIA for over 40 days. They lost a wheel, and almost 3 engines. My father (TSgt John Young) salvaged an engine from another down B-17G that was over 60 miles from Torun. They rescued the crew of that crashed plane and 2 fighter pilots.
Mike Mucha, 24 Nov 2006: The correct name of the Polish town is TORUN.
