Photo of USAAF Texan boyfriend of my mother, Jeanne Thurgar, taken on the front steps of 'Ketnor House', Hannington Crossroads, on the main A43 raod between Kettering and Northampton, sometime in 1944 or '45.
My mother told me of a story about him taking her by the arm in Kettering High Street one day, and crossing the road, to avoid another serviceman who was walking towards them on the same 'sidewalk'.
