24 April 1944, Smoke plume from crash of Loose Goose
Smoke plume from the crash site of 42-37789, LOOSE GOOSE on 24 April 1944.
42-37789 crash landed and burned in the grass on the south side of runway 2 near the intersection with the main runway.
This picture was taken from Dispersal #8 looking Southeast toward the crash site.
Note the B-17 on the left of the photo. This ship is on Dispersal #10.
A diagram of the relationship between the crash site and dispersal #8 is appended as "rear of photo".
Kudos to Neill Howarth for helping to explain the orientation on the airfield plan view of Dispersals #8 and #10 with the crash site of 42-37789, Loose Goose.
