Back Row L-R: Samuel Deutsch (ETTG), Glen E. Alfter (FG), William J. Shade (ROG), George W. Allen (FG), Dangar (BT), Ralph Gatzman (TG)
Front Row L-R: Farris O. Heffley (P), Bash (CP), Louis P. Carini (N), John Betolatti (B)

This picture was taken at the end of Crew Phase training, Peyote, Texas.

Notes from Glenn Alfter: Danger was removed from the crew at Peyote, TX following a series of infractions of the regulations regarding AWOL. He was replaced several times during the course of 23 combat missions, but Metz was the last one. Bash was replaced by Walter Mabe, who was on the crew at the end of the 23rd mission.

Further information: as noted, Danger (BT) did not deploy with the Heffley crew. Charles J. Metz (BT) was assigned as a member of the Heffley Crew.
Bash (CP) did not deploy with the Heffley Crew. The Heffley Crew was initially assigned without a Co-Pilot.
