Chris Vienna: "The photo may look a little different because of the B-24 Liberator the crew is standing by and the B-24 in the background. After talking with my Great-Uncle he said that the crew was trained on the B-24s not the B-17s. However, when they arrived in England they were reassigned to the B-17 (which according to my Great-Uncle was a relief to the crew because the B-24s were a lot heavier, harder to fly and couldn't take the beatings that the B-17 could.)

Photo provided by Christopher Vienna, Howard Vienna's great-nephew, 2014.
