Colonel Julius K. Lacey was the second Group Commanding Officer of the 384th BG. He served as CO from September 6, 1943 to November 23, 1943. It was a temporary assignment between Colonel Budd Peaslee's departure and Colonel Dale O. Smith's arrival. The photo was taken on November 23, 1943. Lacey departed Grafton Underwood immediately upon Smith's arrival.
