42-29529 NORA

42-29529 JD*U Nora 545th BS; A Grp; 13 December 1943 Bremen (Harbor); Poole pilot
Crash landed at base on return; salvaged; flak over the target knocked out first one engine on the left side, then the other, so that the plane had to leave formation; two P-47s accompanied the aircraft to England; the two remaining engines quit as Poole was banking around to come in for the landing; plane side-slipped and hit the ground; none of the crew was seriously injured.
