A/c left formation at 1140 hrs north of North Oldenburg, Germany, heavily engaged by e/a, cr Zwischenahn, Ger; 1KIA (BT) 9POW; MACR 1580; ball turret (Robert Rimmer) bailed out of the bomb bay, pulled rip chord too soon, was caught underneath plane; bombardier tried to pull him back in but could not; pilot and bombardier crashlanded the a/c, which was when Rimmer was killed.
