Front L-R: Joseph M. Sarto (VN), Maj. George H. Koehne (CA/CP), Ralph E. Wiley (B), Capt. William T. Johnson (P), Richard E. Rafeld (OBS/TG)
Aircraft: B-17G 547th BS 42-97592 SO*Y
Crew 05:
Frontrow right has "miss Jackie" painted on his jacket. No futher information.
[Matt Smith] Crew 5 might be standing infront of SU-Y or SO-Y. SU-Y was only ever assigned to 42-97592 and it served a long time so crew loading list comparisons will be a chore...
SO-Y was 42-5806 (possibly) & 41-24525. Do you have any pictures of the crews who flew these planes to cross reference?
[Cindy Bryan] Added identification of Nicholas Leschak. Leschak's name is spelled Nickolas Leschak in his 384th personnel record as taken from his assignment order.
[Cindy Bryan] Relatives of Carl Guinn have identifed him. Also from school year book photo comparisons, I believe Carl B. Guinn is the man standing on the far right and Thomas B. Everitt is standing second from right.]
[Cindy Bryan] Richard Rafeld, with "Miss Jackie" painted on his jacket - Ancestry.com research finds Rafeld married Jacqueline M. Kellman April 1, 1944 in Pinellas, Florida.
