43-37917, PAULINE with Richard Glen Wismer crew, 545th Bomb Squad.

Notes, 7/8/2016, by Cindy Farrar Bryan: The only ID in this photo is Richard Glen Wismer, pilot, standing fourth from the left. I believe the other nine crew members are the original Wismer crew. They other members of the Wismer crew are:
Graydon J. Fletcher (co-pilot)
Darwin T. Kelley (navigator)
Lorenzo V. Abrusci (bombardier)
Harold L. Bussey (radio operator)
John E. Schoebel (engineer/top turret gunner)
David B. Lewis (ball turret gunner)
Joseph D. Cogan (tail gunner)
William J. Leibel (flexible gunner)
Walter W. Bush (flexible gunner)

I base this theory on the following:
1. There are 10 men in the picture. The Wismer crew flew 12 times aboard Pauline, but only ever as a crew of 9.
2. The first mission for the Wismer crew together was on Pauline on August 4, 1944. Flexible gunner Walter Bush did not fly with the Wismer crew or any other crew that day.
3. I believe that when the crew returned from their mission, Bush joined them for a picture.

Photo contributed by Jeff Smith, Richard Glen Wismer's grandson, 2016.
