Standing L-R: Judson L. Dacus, William Russell Harry, Ivan Luther Rice, Edmund S. Goulder
Kneeling L-R: Charles C. Carlin, Bruce T. Haley, Wilbert Y K Yee
As a result of the 2019 Junket in England, we now have identified the location where this photo was taken as in front of the Foxy Theatre at Grafton Underwood.
William Harry (546th) and Ivan Rice (546th) were wounded on 30 July 1943 flying 42-5848 "Patches". They made it home, but the aircraft was shot up so badly it would be scrapped.
Ed Goulder (547th) was wounded on 16 August 1943 on 42-5849 "Hell's Belles II".
Carlin (546th) and Yee (546th) were wounded on the 17 August 1943 Schweinfurt mission on 42-30196 "Sad Sack" with the James Armstrong Crew.
Dacus (547th) was wounded on 16 August 1943 on 42-5843 “Black Ghost" with the Pulcipher Crew.
Haley (547th) was wounded on 12 August 1943 on 42-29768 "Winsome Winn II" with the Willing Crew.
The fates of the seven men were:
Judson L. Dacus, POW, 6 September 1943
William Russell Harry, POW, 14 October 1943
Ivan Luther Rice, KIA, 14 October 1943
Edmund S. Goulder, POW, 1 December 1943
Charles C. Carlin, POW, 6 September 1943
Bruce T. Haley, Completed Tour, 3 February 1944
Wilbert Y K Yee, POW, 6 September 1943
Location is probably in front of the Foxy Theatre, prior to the construction of an entrance vestibule.
