
Jack Hunter explaining how flak struck above him in the Tail Gunner position while he was looking at the bombs striking the target.
"I had put the guns up as high as possible and was watching the bombs strike the runway when the flak hit above me. If I had been doing my job and manning the guns, I might have been killed."
Jack was wounded in the arm and received the Purple Heart Medal after this 23 March 1945 mission.
