Home / A2 Jacket Art / Hugh L Evans 5
These photos were found on the internet, and are displayed here because of their association with the 384th Bomb Group.
Evans was initially the copilot on the Robert Hughes Crew, which was assigned to the 544th Bomb Squadron in July 1944. He later was promoted to First Pilot with his own crew. He was shot down on his 34th mission, and apparently murdered by a Nazi official after reaching the ground alive, along with three crewmates. The responsible parties were brought to justice after the war and punished, either hanged or imprisoned.
