Shot down by flak/fighters on 24 April 1944. Crash landed in Füssen Germany. 9 POW, 1 KIA.

lafournier@airfrance.fr, 29 May 2007: 'BOOBY TRAP' was one of the seven B17s lost by the 384th BG on April 24th 1944. The (P)targets were the LANSBERG A/F, the OBERPFAFFENHOFEN A/I and the A/D of ERDING. This B17 was piloted by Lt RALPH BERNARD HALEY and was downed by JG3. It belly-landed near FUSSEN. All crewmembers were made prisoner. The Navigator, Richard Arthur Patefield was seriously wounded and later died of his wounds in a German hospital.
