Ed Field became the 146th Veteran of the 384th to sign the wing panel on 10 July 2017 at the Veterans Hospital/Center in Manhattan, New York City.

Field was assigned to the 546th Bomb Squadron as the Navigator of the Robert Long Crew in January 1945. He flew 27 combat missions before the end of the air war in Europe.

Field, an accomplished poet and author, entertained the signing event audience with a reading.
